SEPTEMBER 15TH - 17TH AT 7:30PM EST.
The prayer of every believer should be for the kingdom of God to come and that God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven. According to scripture the kingdom of God and His righteousness is supposed to be the priority of the believer. (See Matthew 6; 33, 34)
I am sure that there are many believers who would love to see the kingdom of God to come back to America.
When a nation recognizes and revere the God of the Bible as their God and Lord than that nation will be blessed and have the favor of the Lord. (See Psalm 33:12)
The ultimate purpose of spiritual warfare for the believer is to drive the enemy out so that the kingdom of God may come. This is exactly what Jesus said happens whenever a demon is cast out of a person. But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. Matthew 12:28
The coming of the kingdom is a direct result of spiritual warfare, the casting out of Satan or demons. (See Matthew 12:28; Luke 11:20; Revelation 12:7-10) Note: When Jesus sent out His twelve disciples He gave them two things. He gave them the power of the Holy Ghost, and authority, which is jurisdiction over the very places that Jesus sent them to minister. (See Luke 9:1-,2; 10:1,17-20) The disciples were also sent to preach repentance for the kingdom of God is nigh. (See Matthew 10:1-8; Mark 6:7-13; Luke 9:1-6).
Understanding the principle of spiritual warfare gives us insight into how through Christ we can cast down Satan’s strongholds (See Luke 11:20-22) Note: It was through the power of the cross that the principalities and powers were publicly defeated. (See Colossians 2:14,15)
Christ's disarming and publicly disgrace the principalities and powers at the cross. This phrase draws on the ancient Roman tradition of triumphant processions, where victorious generals would parade defeated enemies as spoils of war, making a spectacle of their powerlessness for all to see.
It is through the power of the cross that Satan, principalities and power are cast out or ejected and all men are drawn to Christ. (See John 12:31-33)
What happens when the kingdom of God comes? From what we get from scripture, several things take place which are listed in Revelation 12:10.
"Now is come salvation”
“Strength” which means the power for performing miracles.
“and the kingdom of our God”
“and the power (jurisdiction) of his Christ”
When addressing principalities and powers we are told to put on the whole armor of God. (See Ephesians 6:10-13) Now the big question is how do you put on the whole armor of God? The word put in the Greek from G1722 and G1416 (in the sense of sinking into a garment); to invest with clothing (literally or figuratively):—array, clothe (with) endue, have (put) on.
The word endue in Luke 23:49 “…until ye be endued with power from on high.” is the exact same word that is used for put in Ephesians 6:11.
So, putting on the whole armor of God is associated with being filled with the Holy Spirit. This seems to be confirmed as Jesus relates to the Holy Spirit being the very means whereby demonic forces are expelled. (See Matthew 12:28; Luke 11:20)
The next thing is to be subordinate to my commander and chief so that I can resist or oppose the enemy. (See James 4:7)
As the Syrian soldiers compassed the city where Elisha was staying, his servant became very fearful. (See II Kings 6:13-17)
It wasn’t until Elisha prayed for God to open the eyes of the young servant then he understood that there were more with them than against with them. When Jesus apprehended in the garden, He recognized that the temple soldiers who came to arrest Him were not alone. (See Luke 22:53) I believe this the one reason Jesus reference the 12 legions of angels that was on standby. (See Matthew 26:53)
It is with the assurance that the Lord of hosts is with us, that one shall chase a thousand and two, ten thousand. It will compel five to chase a hundred and a hundred to put to flight ten thousand. (See Deuteronomy 32:30; Leviticus 26:8)
When in warfare we must always understand and believe that in Christ, God will always cause us to be triumph. (See II Corinthians 2:14)
We have learned from Daniel’s experience that one must persevere in prayer and fasting when it comes to spiritual warfare. (See Daniel 10:1-13) Note: There are some spiritual battles that can only be fought and won through prayer and fasting. (See Matthew 17:20,21)
Preparing for a spiritual battle may mean that there may be some sinful behaviors associated with "darkness" that we may need to denounce. (See Romans 13:12; Ephesians 5:11-14) Note: Promises to give us the armor of light once we repent and reaffirm our allegiance to God.
